Hello all,
I've been getting a lot of PM's from people asking me how certain feats work, are they worth taking with certain builds, and are certain feats working as intended. I decided to make a HoX feat DataBase that will explain what every feat does, if it scales properly with gems, and if it is working as intended. I'll be filling in the info over the next few days bit by bit, so please be patient. I have to respec into each feat, test it out geared and ungeared, copy the combat logs and then post them here. First showing results with all +fire Gear. All tests will be done on regular level 80 mobs, not minions, not raid mobs.
We're going to start with the Avatar Tree.
Fiery Weapons: 5/5 Adds 60% Fire Melee damage to your regular melee attacks.
Improved Fiery weapons: 5/5 Increases the bonus an extra 120% fire melee. It also gives this 120% to all your team members. With Fiery Weapons, 60% melee fire, this gives you 180% bonus fire melee damage. Regular white attacks with weapon on level 80 mob does 250ish, with the extra 180% they do 350ish. (This is with no 2h edge, all +fire magic gear = +518.4 Fire Magic)
Spreading Flames: When using the Burn to Death combo, this will cause the Burn effect of the combo to spread to anyone within 3meters for 40% of the Burn Damage. This does not stack over enemies burning from the combo, only those that weren't. (Level 80 mob tics for 600 a second, spreading flames burn will tic for 260 damage a second.)
Demonic Fortitude: Removes some of your mana to give you some stamina. At level 80, with Ether thirst, this gives you 297 stamina and removes 531 mana.
Demonic Leech: This gives your body & spirit wrack combo an extra 500% mana drain. 5/5 this will drain 1206 Mana.
Rage of Xotli: At 5/5 this increases the damage of your HellStrikes combo by 20%. On level 80 mobs it will hit four times for 250-350 damage a hit.
Mindless Brute: At 3/3, this feat gives you a bonus 410.5 max health, while lowering your Magic Damage modifiers by -3%. What this means is that if you would do 1000 damage on Hellfire breath, it would remove 30 damage. On 2000 damage, 60 damage would be removed, etc.
Flame of Xotli: Increases the damage of your Burn to Death combo's by 55%. Both the regular hits and the Burn DoT effect.
Reaching Flames: Increases the radius of your Pillars of Infernal Flame combo by 1meter per point.
Spell - Demonic Supplication: 15minute Cooldown, it increases the duration of your Desecrating Essence and Avatar of Xotli spells. Desecrating essence will last 1:20 with it, Avatar of Xotli will last 55 seconds with it. (Provided you have the Demon within feat)
Blood Pit: When performing the I eat your heart combo on a minion, this will spawn a Blood pit. Also, when performing a fatality by any other means, it will also spawn the Blood Pit. It adds you 216.6 Natural Health Regen that lasts 10 seconds. The Blood Pit itself will remain for 30 seconds.
Ether thirst: Decreases the casting time of Demonic Fortitude by 100%, making it insta cast, and increases the amount of mana you drain with the Body & spirit wrack combo by 120%.
Fire Lance: 2 part combo, it does 4 hits for 650-800 damage a hit. It has a 3minute cooldown.
Butcher: At 5/5 Lowers the cooldown of your HellStrikes combo by 5 seconds, making it refresh, once used, within 5 seconds instead of 10 seconds.
Flaming Hatred: At 5/5 Lowers the cooldown of your Pillars of Infernal Flame combo by 15 seconds. It will refresh within 45 seconds instead of 60 seconds.
Wrath of Xotli: Increases the damage of your Desecrating Essence and Avatar of Xotli AoE damage by 50%. Desecrating essence will damage everyone for 230-280 damage a Tic, Avatar of Xotli will damage everyone for 400-500 damage a tic.
Damning Eloquence: Lowers the casting time of your Inferno Curse and Fiery Enervation spells, at 3/3 making them insta cast.
Searing Curses: Adds a Burn effect, DoT, to enemies hit with your Molten Steel Slash combo. This DoT will do roughly 100 damage a Tic for about 3 Tics.
Improved Burning Skull: This will enhance your Burning Skull spell with the ability to deal damage to 1 person near you even when the effect of the skull has worn off. Usualy, when you cast it, the effect lasts roughly 10 seconds, then all thats left is the proc chance for burning skull. The damage on the regular burn will be 200ish damage (Seems to be broken and not always working right now), the proc chance damage will be 550-600 damage and roughly has a 10% chance of going off.
Demon Within: At 5/5 Increases the duration of your Desecrating Essence and Avatar of Xotli by 15 seconds.
Burning Hex: This adds a DoT effect to both your Fiery enervation and Inferno Curse spells. Inferno curse does around 70-100 damage every 5 seconds for 20 seconds. Fiery enevervation does 70-100 damage every 5 seconds for 15 seconds.
Flame Cleave: Adds a 120 degree arc, 5 meter radius, damage effect to your HellStrikes combo. It does about 350 damage, but it is currently bugged and does not show "Flame Cleave" as doing the extra damage. In your combat log it will say "HellStrikes does xxx". You will see your HellStrikes do 5 hits instead of the normal 4. One of those hits is the Flame Cleave hit.
Searing Hatred: Adds a Burn effect, DoT, to your Pillars of Infernal Flame Combo. It lasts 15 seconds, does an average of 100 damage a tic, and tics every 5 seconds. So 3 tics of 100ish damage.
Desecration: Reduces the cooldown of your Desecrating Essence and Avatar of Xotli. Reduces the cooldown by 30 seconds on each. Desecrating Essence will refresh in 90 seconds, Avatar of Xotli will refresh in 4 minutes 30 seconds.
Hellfire Feast: Makes your melee attacks drain mana while in Desecrating Essence and Avatar of Xotli forms. Desecrating Essence has a 30% chance to drain 10ish mana. Avatar of Xotli has a 50% chance to drain 30ish mana per hit.
Spell - Tongue of Xotli: This spell is on a 2minute cooldown, has a 12meter range (most mobs will aggro you before you get within range to cast it), and does roughly 2500 damage. The tooltip says it hits your target and any targets between you and it, this is not 100% accurate. This spell does do that, but it also hits everything in a 90degree arc. If you have 3 mobs on you, all in front of you, cast it on the center one and you will hit the two on your sides. It also has a small chance of spawning a Fire Pit. Roughly 10-20% chance. The fire pit is currently bugged. It sometimes tics for 150-200 damage a tic. But 90% of the time it does not tic even if the mob is standing on it.
Avatar of Xotli: This is another form of Desecrating Essence. It does not overwrite your desecrating essence, but rather gives you an extra one with a shorter duration but much higher bonuses. First off, as soon as you cast it you heal yourself for 1011 health. The bonuses given by using Avatar of Xotli are +25% fire invulnerability, 1010.8 max health, 97.6 Fire damage (magic), 43.4 fire damage (melee), every 3 seconds it procs "Avatar of Xotli" to everyone around you within 3meters for 500-600 damage (With all +500 Fire Magic Gear), and your melee attacks have a chance of doing another "Avatar of Xotli" proc for around 300-400 damage to everything within 4meters. It is on a 5minute cooldown, and the graphics look slightly different then desecrating essence (Shoulder pads are shown). It lasts for 47 seconds. Tooltip says 35, but you get +12 for Demon Within for a total of 47 seconds in Avatar of Xotli form.
